Caroline & Phil Tie the Knot.

Caroline & Phil celebrated their special day with us on 15th September 2023, and here’s what they had to say about celebrating their big day with us here at Mytton Fold Hotel.

Our search for our wedding venue began with a very open mind, however, we did have some strong key requirements regarding the style of wedding we wanted, and that helped us in our search. One of these was to have all our guests present for the entire day (all 94 of them), with no distinction between day
and evening guests. We wanted our wedding to reflect our personalities and who we are as a couple: to be fun, relaxed, and not overly formal or serious. We envisioned a ceremony of love and emotions, followed by a casual wedding meal and ending with an unforgettable evening of pizza and some serious partying. These ideas steered our search to find the perfect venue.

As we continued our search, we knew we wanted a contemporary place that had a bright and airy atmosphere, some unique character, lovely grounds for great photo opportunities, the perfect space to party, with not too many segregated rooms, and the convenience of on-site accommodation. However, what truly mattered to us was finding a venue that made us feel welcomed, filled us with excitement, and had a fun and friendly vibe. We also wanted a venue fairly close to where we live in Leyland, Lancashire, so concentrated our search around Preston and the Ribble Valley area.

Mytton Fold just ticked all the boxes for us; it was the bright, airy and modern venue we were looking for. We booked the venue just over 12 months prior to our wedding date. With the style of wedding we had hoped for, we were very fortunate to find that Mytton Fold had recently created a ‘twilight’
wedding package – this meant a later ceremony which ultimately skipped the more formal three-course meal, and allowed for up to 100-day guests. We knew this was the right package for us; we had our ceremony at 3pm, which gave us a very relaxed morning getting ready, followed by canapés, a glass of fizz and an American styled hot buffet. Even though our approach was slightly different, it felt no less of a wedding.

Mytton Fold has it all; it is a gorgeous exclusive venue complete with bridal suite, refurbished rooms, a bridal prep room, a conference room offering private hosting and dining if so desired and a resident bar and restaurant that you can visit or book at any time – not just for your wedding. Most importantly, we were made to feel welcomed and excited about our wedding. The grounds at Mytton Fold are stunning, with views overlooking the Ribble Valley and secluded areas to take in the scenery. There is an abundance of space, with gardens and long driveways, pathways and perfectly positioned stone benches. There’s also access to a couple of wooden pergolas and an adorable bridge which gives you the perfect outdoor setting for photos. You can also get married under one of the pergolas, if the British weather works in your favour!

The team at Mytton Fold were outstanding from the minute we booked right up to the wedding and even beyond. As a venue that hosts multiple weddings and events on a weekly basis, they never failed to make us feel like the most special bride and groom. We were greatly appreciative of the consistent communication throughout – any email, phone call or meeting never felt a burden. Paris, Lisa and the team were very accommodating and took on board all our ideas. We wanted to schedule in a first look together on the morning of our wedding, to help with the pre-wedding nerves, despite this untraditional approach we felt supported by Paris and the team in our decision, and it was in fact one of the most memorable moments of the day. Phil also had a few other ideas in mind – pizza and Jäger bombs. Without hesitation, Mytton Fold went above and beyond to secure a pizza van vendor that perfectly suited our needs and ensured they were stocked up on Jägermeister. I stayed over the night before with the bridal party; we had a meal booked in the restaurant and then breakfast in the morning. It was such a special time; the staff were very accommodating yet not intrusive, which made for a great atmosphere.

On the day, Paris regularly checked in with the bridal party, and our glasses of prosecco were never empty. The team were extremely accommodating to our guests also and we have received amazing feedback regarding how lovely Mytton Fold was and how great the day was overall. We have received specific feedback from a guest on how appreciated they felt when their gluten intolerances were accommodated for, and they didn’t even need to ask. The day after our wedding we didn’t feel rushed and felt the staff took great care to make our time there special. Our colours and theme for the day were rust orange, nudes and golds with lots of greenery. I created our own wedding invites which featured an arch, this then started becoming a consistent theme throughout all the other stationery and venue styling.

We would highly recommend Mytton Fold to other engaged couples. This venue offers an exceptional experience from the start, with a variety of wedding packages to suit a range of budgets. The team provides consistent support and welcomes unconventional ideas. Their open communication and
enthusiasm to make your vision come to life makes you feel genuinely valued. Every detail of your special day is handled with care and dedication. The Abbey Suite at Mytton Fold is contemporary, bright and spacious and is completely exclusive to you. They have stunning grounds with amazing views of the Ribble Valley, secluded spots, and unique outdoor settings to make for great opportunity for photos.
